Today, Thursday, August 29, 2024, the Authority of People with Disability (APD) executed a memorandum of cooperation with the National Industrial Training Institute (NITI). The objective of this collaboration is to enhance joint efforts in the areas of capacity development, technical expertise, and empowerment knowledge that are mutually beneficial to both parties. Furthermore, exchanging studies, experiences, statistics, guides, and standards of interest, as well as attaining mutual benefit in disability awareness and educational topics.
The memorandum of cooperation is the result of the mutual interest of both parties to collaborate and coordinate in order to achieve shared objectives within the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and its executive programs. It also seeks to meet the criteria for the admission of individuals with disabilities to the NITI's programs and to capitalize on its training and employment opportunities, based on their competence and capacity to execute tasks.
The memorandum was signed by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the APD, Dr. Hisham bin Mohammed Al-Haidari, and the Director General of the National Industrial Training Institute, Mr. Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah Al-Hajji. In accordance with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, the memorandum is an extension of the APD's endeavors to improve the integration and coordination with various sectors to support and serve individuals with disabilities, as well as to facilitate their integration and participation in society.
The Authority of People with Disability serves as a comprehensive umbrella for all matters pertaining to individuals with disabilities, in collaboration with a variety of sectors and entities. In order to achieve an inclusive and harmonious society, the APD endeavors to improve the participation of individuals with disabilities in a variety of development programs, guarantee their access to disability-related rights, actively engage them in different kinds of activities to promote their independence and empowerment, and fully integrate them into all aspects of life.
It is important to note that the National Industrial Training Institute is the outcome of a strategic partnership between Saudi Aramco and the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC).
The NITI's objective is to serve as a national academic institution that utilizes the most advanced scientific and technical methodologies and adheres to international quality standards to prepare and qualify Saudi cadres in order to contribute to the development of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's industrial future in the oil, gas, and petrochemical sectors.
