In its workshop titled "Assessing the Current Status of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities," the Authority of People with Disability (APD) addressed life’s challenges and fundamental necessities. In addition to accessibility, education, health, employment, and social programs, the workshop covered a variety of other topics, such as the penalties imposed on those who oppose persons with disabilities. The workshop was attended by a number of persons with disabilities themselves, government representatives, and those with an interest in the field of disability.
The workshop is conducted in anticipation of the implementing regulations that will be put into effect under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Law (RPDL). Five fundamental sections of the Law address every aspect that affects persons with disabilities. It is noteworthy that the APD strives to coordinate efforts, improve service quality, and promulgate regulations, rules, and legislation to ensure that persons with disabilities have access to a harmonious and inclusive society.
