The Board of the Authority of Persons with Disabilities (APD) held its second-quarter meeting for 2025, chaired by His Excellency Eng. Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development and Chairman of APD’s Board. The Board hosted Unaizah Association for Development and Human Services in Al-Qassim Region and Taibah Educational City for Special Education in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah Region to review their experience in the care and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities. The Board also discussed the potential to scale and benefit from the Unaizah Association and Taibah Educational City models across other regions of the Kingdom through a targeted framework that contributes to improving the quality of life for persons with disabilities. The Board reviewed APD’s institutional performance indicators for Q2 2025 and examined the programs and initiatives implemented in cooperation with relevant entities during the quarter to enhance services and improve the quality of life for persons with disabilities. APD continues its efforts to empower persons with disabilities by enhancing the quality of services provided to them through integrated work with relevant sectors, and by establishing policies and procedures that support the sustainability and integration of these services. The Authority is also working to raise community awareness of their rights, in pursuit of an inclusive, cohesive society with equal opportunities for all.
