The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries are participating in the 6th Gulf Theater Festival for Persons with Disabilities, which aims to involve persons with disabilities in arts. The opening ceremony will be hosted on December 3, and the closing awards ceremony will be held on December 9, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. in the Conference Hall at Princess Norah bint Abdulrahman University (PNU) in Riyadh. The festival is targeting all members of society to ensure the integration of persons with disabilities and raise societal awareness about disability. All GCC countries are participating in the festival through theatrical shows, workshops, and art exhibitions featuring the work of people with disabilities.

The Authority of People with Disability (APD) stressed the need to engage persons with disabilities in all forums and indicated that the 6th theater festival will include daily theatrical plays performed by people with disabilities from various GCC countries, which will start at 6:00 p.m. The APD added that Saudi Arabia will be the first to perform at the opening ceremony, and the play will star a group of persons with disabilities from the Help Center. It is worth noting that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be hosting the Gulf Theater Festival for Persons with Disabilities in 2022, which is organized every two years in one of the GCC countries.
