The Authority of People with Disability Receives the National Dialogue Award

The Authority of People with Disabilities (APD) received the National Dialogue Award for the Purple Saturday initiative. The initiative aims to identify the needs of people with disabilities, achieve social integration, and raise awareness about disability. His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh, patronized the awards ceremony which was organized by the King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue (KACND). The award was accepted by Dr. Hisham bin Muhammad Al-Haidari, the Chief executive officer (CEO) of the APD. Dr. Hisham Al-Haidari stated that receiving such an award reflects the great support and attention given to achieving a decent life for people with disabilities by our leaders in Saudi Arabia. He also noted that this accomplishment demonstrates the commitment of all APD staff to developing quality initiatives and strategies to empower people with disabilities. Dr. Hisham expressed his thanks towards King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue for providing such an opportunity, especially as this award is considered one of the pioneering awards in the development of society. He also extended his gratitude to His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz for his support of all groups in society, particularly people with disabilities. Dr. Hisham concluded his statement by saying, “We, in the Authority of People with Disabilities, are continuing to work towards empowering people with disabilities and creating a comprehensive and harmonious society that promotes independence and access to all means of success”.
