The Authority of People with Disability, in collaboration with the Directorate General of Civil Defense, aims to raise the awareness of security and safety officials and crisis management in government and private entities on the best ways to provide for persons with disabilities in emergencies. The guide also reviews the tools used to evacuate persons with disabilities, as well as the identification of disabilities, such as hearing disability, visual disability, motor or physical disability, and each has an appropriate emergency evacuation tool and means. The guide also addresses identifying evacuation priorities and methods for establishing evacuation models for persons with disabilities. The guide aims to raise the prevention level for persons with disabilities and is considered the first of its kind in the field of service for persons with disabilities in emergencies in the Kingdom.
The launch has an interactive exhibition in which the tools used for persons with disabilities and their methods of use, such as visual or hearing disabilities alarm devices or the assistant staircase for the evacuation of persons with motor disabilities will be displayed. The exhibition will be held in the Digital City in Riyadh on Sunday, 6 and 7 February 2022. The Authority of People with Disability aims to ensure that persons with disabilities have access to their rights, enhance the services provided to them, raise the level of care and prevention and coordinate roles among stakeholders, and issue guides, policies, programs, and strategies that aim to empower people with disabilities towards an inclusive society.
