Today, Tuesday,
Rabi’ Al-Awal 6, 1443 AH, corresponding to October 12, 2021 AD, the Authority
of People with Disability and Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University signed
a memorandum of understanding aims at exchanging knowledge, increasing the
admission of people with disabilities at the university, and expanding the
admission of students with disabilities in academic disciplines and programs. The
memorandum also aims at promoting awareness-raising participation in special
events for people with disabilities and benefiting from research and studies
between the two parties that are intended to ensuring the empowerment and
integration of people with disabilities in society.
The memorandum
also aims to improve the urban and digital environment of the university to
become compatible with comprehensive access standards. It also aims to provide
the APD with data and statistics of people with disabilities who study or work
at the university in order to enhance the services and programs provided to
them.
The agreement
was signed by the President of Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, Prof.
Dr. Ahmed bin Salem Al-Amri, and the CEO of the Authority of People with
Disability, Dr. Hisham bin Muhammad Al-Haidary.
It is
noteworthy that the Authority of People with Disability has concluded several
agreements and memoranda of understanding with various government sectors with
the aim of improving services provided to people with disabilities and
promoting their empowerment and inclusion in society, towards an inclusive and
harmonious society.
