The Board of Directors (BoD) of the Authority of People with Disability (APD) held its twenty-seventh meeting on Sunday, July 28, 2024. Several topics were discussed during the meeting, all of which contribute to the APD's objectives of empowering individuals with disabilities.
In order to further the collaborative endeavors to address the employment challenges encountered by individuals with disabilities in the public and private sectors, as well as the social development sector, the BoD hosted the leaders of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD).
The Board of Directors also deliberated on the strategic objectives and performance indicators of the APD for the subsequent five years, as well as the initiatives that the APD is currently implementing to promote the empowerment of individuals with disabilities. The BoD also approved the implementing regulations of the Law of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
The BoD was briefed on the initiatives, programs, and events that the APD has implemented to enhance the quality of life of individuals with disabilities during the second quarter of 2024.
It is important to note that the Authority of People with Disability is collaborating with a variety of sectors to improve the quality of services provided to individuals with disabilities. Additionally, the APD strives to promote public awareness of disability, its causes, prevention, care, empowerment, and access to a comprehensive and harmonious society.
