Under the generous patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Authority of People with Disability (APD) participated in the 6th International Conference on Disability and Rehabilitation, titled “Daring the Future”. The APD participated in many scientific sessions and workshops that discussed much research conducted by the APD as well as the exhibition of the conference. Such research addressed many topics, such as, the quality of life, education, rights, cooperation between sectors, and the initiatives that were launched by the APD to empower people with disabilities.
Dr. Hisham Al-Haidari, The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the APD, Vice-Chairman of the Conference Preparatory Committee, and Chairman of the Conference Recommendations Committee, expressed his gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, for his constant support and empowerment of people with disabilities. Dr. Hisham also referred to the efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Salman Center for Disability Research (KSCDR), and Chairman of the Conference, in empowering people with disabilities over the past decades and coming up with distinct recommendations that benefit the society. He also extended his thanks and appreciation to everyone participating in the conference, researchers, and those interested in the field of disability.
It is worth noting that the Authority of People with Disability has participated in many local and international conferences in order to introduce the APD, its efforts in empowering people with disabilities, its contribution in improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities through scientific research and studies.
