The Authority of People with Disability announced that the launch date of the Purple Saturday initiative will be on Saturday, Muharram 1, 1444 AH which corresponds to July 30, 2022 AD. The initiative aims to provide discounts and offers for people with disabilities. The Authority of People with Disability has coordinated with the Ministry of Commerce to support the Purple Saturday initiative by urging the chambers of commerce, companies, and stores to participate, noting that merchants will be able to participate without affecting the annual merchant balance. This initiative is considered one of the community-based initiatives aimed at supporting people with disabilities, which achieved remarkable success last year, as more than 1,500 points of sale participated, benefiting people with disabilities in different regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Authority of People with Disability stresses the importance of participating in this initiative from the standpoint of social responsibility and to achieve one of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 goals by integrating persons with disabilities into society.
