After meeting the standard requirements, the Authority of People with Disability (APD) was granted the ISO 9001:2015 certification by the International Organization for Standardization which is a fundamental framework for the implementation of quality management standards.

The awarding of the certificate to the APD is an additional manifestation of its commitment to quality standards in all its procedures, develop institutional performance in adherence to local and international standards, and stay abreast of best practices in order to accomplish its strategic goals under the pillar of institutional excellence—improving the quality of services provided to individuals with disabilities across multiple sectors.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Authority of People with Disability, Dr. Hisham bin Mohammed Al-Haidari, stated that the APD aims, through obtaining ISO 9001, to continue to apply local and international best practices and standards to ensure the quality of its outputs. He pointed out that the quality management system contributes to meeting the needs of the various beneficiaries of the APD's programs, objectives, and initiatives, as well as overseeing and controlling the quality of the core and administrative processes and implementing concepts of constant development and improvement.

It is worth mentioning that the APD obtained the Best Work Environment Certificate from Great Place to Work in 2023 and is working on several strategic pillars, including the institutional excellence of all administrative, legal, and operational systems that enhance the effectiveness of its work to achieve its vision—improving the quality of life for people with disabilities and empowering them for inclusive and effective participation in society.
